Don Bosco Makati & Don Bosco – One TVET host PCNC’s 1st Online Learning Session
In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Philippines Council for NGO Certification (PCNC), Don Bosco Technical Institute of Makati, in partnership with the Don Bosco – One TVET Philippines, conducted an online learning session on the theme “Tech-Voc for Job Generation” last May 26, 2022 via Zoom. This is the first of a series of online learning sessions organized by PCNC.
The online learning session stressed on the importance of Technical Vocational (Tech-Voc) education as driving factor for socio-economic growth. To give substance to the theme, Don Bosco Makati and Don Bosco – One TVET Philippines, invited guests who would concretize the impact and add value to Tech-Voc Education in the country. The guests were: Fr. Jose Dindo Vitug, SDB (Technical Director, Don Bosco Makati); Dir. Rizal Bautista (TESDA District Director – PASMAK); Ms. Carmen Linda Atayde (Executive Director, SM Foundation – Education Program); Engr. Ronald Gaspar (Assistant Vice President and Operations Manager, Toyota Motor Philippines, Inc.); and, Mr. Marc Angelo Ferrer (Don Bosco Makati Alumni and the Shop head of Porsche Training and Recruitment Center Philippines). These guests also serve as panelist in the open discussion midway in the program. They encourage the viewers to enroll in Tech-Voc courses for job and skills development.
The welcome remark was given by the PCNC Executive Director, Mr. Felix Tonog. After which, Fr. Vitug delivered a presentation regarding Tech-Voc Education for poverty alleviation and the impact of the Tech-Voc Education in the Philippines. The closing remarks was given by Mr. Tonog and closed with the awarding of Certificate of Appreciation for Don Bosco Technical Institute – Makati for hosting the online learning session.
This first online learning session was also streamed via Facebook Live and other online platforms.
